Lyrics

Todos me dicen el Negro, Llorona
Negro pero carinoso
Yo soy como el chile verde, Llorona
Picante pero sabroso

Ay, de mi, Llorona, Llorona
Llorona de ayer y hoy
Ayer marivilla fue, Llorona
Y ahora ni sombre soy

Dicen que no tengo duele, Llorona
Por que no me ven llorara
Hay muertos que no hacen ruido Llorona
Y mas grande su penar

Ay, de mi, Llorona, Llorona
Llorona de azul celeste
Y aunque la vida mi cuesta, Llorona
No dajare de quertete

Salias del templo un dia , Llorona
Cuando al pasar yo te vie
Hermosa huipil llevabas, Llorona
Cuando al pasar yo te vie

Ay, de mi, Llorona, Llorona
Llorona, llevame al rio
Tapame con tu rebozo, Llorona
Que ya mie muero do frio

Si al cielo subir pudiera, Llorona
Las estrellas te bajara
La luna a tu pies, Llorona
Con el sol te coronara

Ay, de mi, Llorona, Llorona
Llorona de negros ojos
Ya con esta se despide, Llorona
Tu negritos carinos

Here is a translation of the song in English although there are several versions of how this translates. This is the best I worked out.

Everyone calls me the black, weeping woman, black but still loving
I am like the green chile, Llorona, spicy but delicious

Oh, my, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of yesterday and today
It was only yesterday, I was Llorona, nnd now I'm not a shadow

They say that I have no pain, Llorona because they don’t see me cry
The dead make no noise Llorona, all the greater is their pain

Oh, my, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona of the blue skies
And though my hard life, Llorona, I never stopped loving you.

You left the temple one day, Llorona, I saw you as you passed by
Wearing a beautiful embroidered blouse, Llorona, I saw you as you passed by

Oh, my, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona, take me to the river
Cover me with your shawl, Llorona, I am already freezing to death

If you could go to heaven, Llorona and the stars would come down
The moon is at your feet, Llorona, with the sun worn as your crown

Oh, my, Llorona, Llorona, Llorona with the black eyes,
Since this is goodbye, Llorona, Your affections are dark
